An exam is always a holiday, I remember, said one hero of a well-known old Soviet film. Is it really? Almost anyone will say that, of course, this is not true. This is exciting, scary, this terrible tension until you shake in your hands. Especially if it is a traffic police exam. There are lucky people who are calm and unperturbed in any situation, like a rock. Or they are so confident in their knowledge and skills that they see no point in worrying. However, most will still need simple tips on how not to worry before the traffic police exam.

What is this exam and what is it eaten with?

In order not to be afraid of the exam, you need to know well what it is. When preparing at a driving school, they will tell you this many times, explain it to you, and give examples. In addition, before day X you will have to pass a similar test within the walls of your home school - an internal exam. Can you repeat roughly the same thing again? For sure.

Actually, the exam consists of two parts: theoretical and practical. In the first one you will have to answer questions about tickets. Knowledge of traffic rules and driving theory will be tested. The practical part of the exam, in turn, is divided into two parts. The first involves an exam on a racing track - testing the ability to perform a standard set of exercises. The second includes driving in the city.

To get a consultation

To drink or not to drink, that is the question?

Many tips on how to calm down before a traffic police exam include a recommendation to take a sedative.
However, such drugs inhibit attentiveness, reaction speed and speed of thinking, making a person overly lethargic and relaxed. Do you need it for your driving test? Hardly. In addition, excessive relaxation can be dangerous not only for the success of the exam, but also for other road users. But the day before you can relax and get a good night's sleep. But you can resort to pills only as a last resort: they can cause lethargy the next day. It is better to drink tea with chamomile, mint or lemon balm, warm milk with honey, take a bath with foam and lavender essential oil, and get a massage. And go to bed early.

Important! Some people are used to relaxing before bed with a glass of beer or wine. On the eve of an exam, this is the worst thing you can think of. After all, alcohol will lead to a slow reaction the next day, and may not completely disappear from the body.

How is the exam held in the city?

The driving test in the city is taken on a first-come, first-served basis - one traffic police officer works with several examinees. The inspector takes the passenger seat and first of all pays attention to how the driver prepares to move. It is important to fasten your seat belt and adjust your seat and mirrors. You must listen carefully to the inspector throughout the entire exam. He will give tasks that require immediate execution. Most common commands:

  • make a turn;
  • turn around on wide and narrow roads;
  • drive through a controlled and unregulated intersection;
  • park;
  • change lanes into the next lane, etc.

Any unfulfilled request is counted as an error. Consider one more important detail: the inspector may specifically require something that does not fit into the traffic rules. He will wait for an appropriate reaction, but not for mindless execution of the command. A gross violation of traffic rules deprives the student of the chance to pass the exam. In this case, you will have to return for a retake after a while.

I love - I don’t love

Some people love to practice parallel parking, but hate hills. Others prefer the snake... This is about the basic exercises. Often cadets make a common mistake: they try to avoid exercises they don’t like, paying more attention to their favorite ones. As a result, the former remain poorly developed. How can you not worry during your driving test?

After all, no one will ask what we like and what we don’t. You will have to pass all the exercises, and equally well. And to do this, you need to practice all the exercises on the race track equally hard, so that you can literally go through them with your eyes closed.

If there are any particularly weak points, be it in theory or practice, then it is worth tightening them so that they fly off your teeth. And this is the most effective way not to worry during the traffic police exam. After all, only impeccable preparation will help you be confident in your knowledge and strengths.

How to calm down before an exam

How to calm down before exams or other important events?

There is no need to calm down completely - a little anxiety before the exam helps. If you drink so much sedative pills that nothing else worries you, there is a high probability that you will be just as calm and stupid during the exam. Light excitement mobilizes and sets you up for good mental work.

The simplest recipe is also the most effective: you just need to get down to business. If you have an hour left before the exam, make the most of it. If you walk around with nothing to do, you will start to worry. If you rewrite the main necessary wording at this hour, you will worry less. It doesn’t matter how much you learn during this time - but at least you studied, you used the available time in the best possible way, your conscience will be calm.

By the way, don’t forget to get enough sleep: being in good physical shape with a clear head is more important than reading again what you seem to have already read...

If you are worried about the situation due to the fact that the unknown scares you: how is it? what is there?, then play this exam or interview with one of your friends or relatives, having been in the game role of both a student and a teacher. It helps. If you have a good imagination, occupy it with pictures of success: picture in your mind how everything is going well, and let the final picture of your victorious ending be especially colorful. You are satisfied, you are happy, everything worked out, hurray!

If suddenly, next to the picture of success, pictures of failure, failure, trouble pop up strongly, and you cannot get rid of these thoughts, use the great principle: “If you can’t cope, take charge.” Don’t run away from the picture of failure, but deal with this situation - is it really that scary? Ask yourself this question seriously... I won’t pass the exam, I’ll be late, we won’t meet - are you sure that this is seriously worthy of the title “Horror”? Children love to be afraid, but you enter into the state of an adult and tell yourself calmly: even in the event of the most unpleasant outcome, all the most important things in life will remain with you. It's not the end of the world. Everyone will remain alive.

The worst thing that will happen to you if you fail an exam is that you will come home and have a coffee and a bun. You have a home and you will have coffee. Please appreciate this and don't make a show of being deprived of your life. Learn to distinguish between vital things and temporary things. A wise person, unlike a child-person, is familiar with real losses, and with them, as a standard, he knows how to determine the real magnitude of what happened.

It happens - rarely! - when passing exams means not just an ordinary event, but is associated with building an entire destiny, or even your life or someone else’s. It is clear that this is a completely different conversation, and here read the Declaration on Accepting Reality. It will definitely help people with their head.

If you suddenly start to panic (anything can happen!), there are at least three keys to help you: tell yourself “Stop!”, calm your breathing and drink a glass of water. A glass of water is good for the blood vessels of the brain and distracts, but the main work will be done by focusing on your breathing: deep breath - slow exhalation, deep breath - slow exhalation... As much as needed. It always helps when you start to worry: breathing with a slow exhalation calms you down. And the word “Stop!”, said as a command, even better out loud, sobers you up from panic and returns you to self-control. Everything will be fine.

Another important circumstance: sometimes it is difficult to calm down because you wind yourself up, or at least prolong the problematic situation yourself. If you start arguing with someone and get worked up, you won’t always have the ability to calm down in time. But changing the topic of conversation is easier. And leaving the room under some pretext (or even just leaving) is much easier and more effective. We are influenced by the state of the people around us - calm people calm us down, excited people excite us. If you want to calm down, you can simply change your interlocutor to someone more suitable for you. Another great way is to start trying to reason with and calm down someone who is worried next to you. Obviously, your words will not be as convincing as possible for him, but they will definitely have a good effect on you. Calm down yourself.

If your whole body is agitated, two things will help: either vigorous physical activity, or, on the contrary, lie down and relax (if you know how to relax). Sitting and worrying is stupid. Either go for a walk outside, or lie down and relax.

In general, remember: the sooner you go to bed, the better. The morning is wiser than the evening; in the morning you will get up fresh and do new things, leaving everything old behind. When everything difficult and bad goes away, only good remains.

Everything will be fine!

Prospects: if over time you learn how to quickly relax and master auto-training, you will always be calm in any situation you need. Useful skill!

Don't listen to bad advisers. And talk less

If you chat at every turn about the upcoming exam and the accompanying worries, then every listener - with good intentions, of course - will strive to give advice. And not always good. And, most likely, contradicting other advice.

And also, especially for those who have already attended a driving school and received a license, they will probably tell you how it was for them. How an evil inspector almost killed you in the parking lot. Or how you came across such a complex ticket that no one has ever sorted out.

Having heard enough of this, how not to worry before the traffic police exam? Hence the conclusion: talk less about your experiences and listen less. It will be calmer this way. Then tell the whole world how you successfully passed the exam - the first time!

How to cope with autophobia after an accident?

The fear of driving a car often develops in those who have once been involved in a traffic accident. It does not matter whether the person was driving or in the passenger seat. After an accident, the car begins to be associated with danger, and in this case there are 2 options: either forget about driving forever, or pull yourself together and deal with the problem.

First of all, psychologists recommend not taking long breaks. Otherwise, there is a risk of losing the skill and forgetting everything that was taught in driving school. Starting from scratch a second time will be even more difficult, so despite the fear that has arisen, you need to act and train regularly. This should be done in stages:

  1. Be in the car more often, but not go anywhere - clean, repair, to the best of your ability. You can simply get behind the wheel without starting the engine, and mentally reproduce all the actions while driving.
  2. When your fear begins to subside and you gain a little confidence in your own abilities, you can plan a short trip. It’s good if it’s a few meters, for example, from one yard to another. Here it is important to take your time and fight your fear of driving gradually.
  3. The next stage is to increase the distance to the nearest store, near which you will need to park, get out of the car, and then return home in it.

Step by step, confidence will replace anxiety, and a person will cease to be afraid, even when he finds himself on the main city highway. The presence of a little anxiety is normal and, naturally, there is no need to fight it. It will force you to be more attentive and responsible while driving. No matter how sad the experience may be, it still teaches correct and adequate behavior behind the wheel.

Life doesn't end

And the easiest way to calm down before the traffic police exam is to just... calm down. Just ask yourself the question, what will happen if you don’t pass it? That's right, you will have one more try. And further. But generally speaking, life does not end with such a small failure.

Therefore, how not to worry during the driving test? Tune in for the best, calm down, pull yourself together. Of course, it’s easier said than done, but it’s still possible. How to pull yourself together? There are some simple recommendations:

  1. Think through and imagine everything in advance down to the smallest detail. Imagine how you, with a calm smile, relaxed, get into the car and fasten your seat belt. And so on.
  2. Remember your most successful, successful day, when you were more confident than ever. Close your eyes, remember as many details and little things of this day as possible. Feel your feelings at this moment. And try to fix this feeling of confidence in your soul.
  3. Think about the fact that the traffic police officer taking the exam is just a person. He, like everyone else, goes to bed and eats, communicates with family and friends, walks the dog, and goes to the store. It has its weaknesses and shortcomings. Realizing this greatly relieves fear.

Or else, remember that you have already had exams in your life, and probably more than one. You defended your diploma and graduated from school. And the Unified State Examination will be even worse!

***

And yet, how not to worry? What could be worse than passing the traffic police exam, someone will say. Whatever. To get lost in the forest. Move to live in another country. For some, even visiting the dentist’s office. And the exam is just another stage on the path of life. And you shouldn’t be afraid of it any more than you would be afraid of an ordinary little test. The main thing is that the result is worth it.

How not to worry during the traffic police exam

Hello, dear readers. I am often asked how not to worry during the traffic police exam. Therefore, I decided to write a detailed article about the most effective methods of dealing with anxiety.

There are many different ways to overcome anxiety. The simplest thing is to take a sedative . But I don’t recommend doing this, because... the medicine not only calms, but also inhibits the nervous system. And in an exam you need to make decisions quickly. Therefore, a sedative is a bad help.

I will tell you about several simple and effective psychological ways to calm down.

1 . Think through the entire sequence of actions for the exam . We got into the car, adjusted the seat, mirrors, fastened the seat belt, etc. Model all the exercises on the race track, talk through the sequence of actions, and draw them on paper.

If you are also concerned about the exam in the city, then think through the sequence of actions in all possible situations.

For example, turning left: turn on the turn signal, wait for the traffic light to clear, drive out into the middle of the road, let all oncoming cars pass, turn the steering wheel and turn.

In addition, you need to think about how to make a left turn if you are not driving in the extreme left lane, in 3rd gear, etc.

And so for all exercises.

All controversial issues also need to be thought through in advance.

For example, you again turn left. You passed the stop line at the blinking arrow, and when you approached the intersection, the arrow had already gone out. What to do? We need to complete the maneuver.

Spend 30 minutes on this preparation, and then it will be easier for you to pass.

2. Before getting into the car, remember a situation in your life when you were confident in yourself . When everything you planned has come true. It is better to remember this situation in advance. Feel confident in yourself and your abilities. Charge yourself with confidence.

3. If you can’t remember, then come up with it .

For example, imagine that you are performing on stage with a fiery song, the audience is rejoicing, applauding you, you are 100% confident in yourself.

It is very important to feel this confidence before the exam. And it’s better to feel confident not just for one moment, but at least for a minute, preferably 5. And even better during the entire exam . Practice beforehand. This will be useful to you not only in the exam, but also in life.

4. Imagine the exam process as I will now describe it. You joyfully and calmly get into the car, perform all the exercises flawlessly, the inspector smiles at you, says that you did everything perfectly and can pick up your license within a week, you sign the piece of paper and joyfully get out of the car.

Everything turned out exactly the way you wanted. You have passed the exam and can now drive your own car. Are you happy. Imagine the most favorable possible outcome, feel the joy of passing the exam. Live this situation, feel all the details. A positive attitude is very important.

5. Don't take the exam very seriously. This is the most common event . They came, got into the car, drove, and got out. There's just one more person watching. And there is no need to be afraid of the inspector. He is the same person as you. He buys groceries, washes, walks the dog - nothing special. And the exam does not pose any threat to you. Well, if you don’t pass it the first time, you’ll pass it the second time.

6. Have you ever noticed that if you really want something, it usually works out with great difficulty? And if you don’t take it to heart, then everything comes out on its own. Take the exam easier.

I hope the exercises listed will help you in obtaining your license. Good luck on the exam!
