There are several ways to pay tax without a receipt:
- Generate a payment order online on official websites.
- Make a payment via online banking.
- Pay via Yandex.Money.
The post office, alas, loses letters, even official ones. And citizen taxpayers are obliged to pay the budget annually for tax obligations - to pay on time for:
The Federal Tax Service notifies taxpayers of debt amounts no later than 30 days before the end of payment deadlines. That is, if the deadline for transferring the debt for a car is October 1, therefore, the Federal Tax Service must send payment documents no later than September 1.
What happens if you don't pay your tax debt on time?
- If you do not repay your tax debt on time, penalties begin to accrue from the first day of delay (1/300 of the Central Bank rate) for each day.
- The Tax Service has the right to impose a fine on you in the amount of 20% of the debt amount. In case of intentional delay - 40% of the amount of debt.
- In a situation where all the deadlines provided for by law have expired, a claim will be filed with the court to collect the debt at the expense of your property (including funds in bank accounts, official income, etc.) in the amount of the accrued amount of the debt.
IMPORTANT!
If, after three years from the date of sending the first notification of the existing debt, the amount collected (including penalties) does not exceed 3,000 rubles, then the tax authority submits an application to the court for the return of funds to the budget within 6 months from the date of expiration of this three-year period.
If the amount of the debt exceeded 3,000 rubles earlier than three years, then an application for repayment of the debt is sent to the courts within 6 months from the moment when the amount of overdue payments and penalties reached 3,000 rubles.
You can find out about the decision made regarding you on the website of the Bailiff Service of the Russian Federation (https://fssprus.ru/iss/ip). To search, you will need your date of birth and full name.
I haven’t received a tax receipt, what should I do?
If you have not received a corresponding notification from the Federal Tax Service about your outstanding tax liability, this does not mean that you do not owe the state anything.
You can check your debt and print a receipt for paying taxes using your TIN on the official website of the Federal Tax Service. The procedure is simple and does not take much time. You will need a TIN, a mobile phone or computer with Internet access and a bank card. You can also generate a receipt for tax payment through the State Services website.
IMPORTANT! For personal income tax (personal income tax), notifications for payment are not sent out. This tax is paid for citizens by the tax agent (the employer or other company from which you received income). If the income is received from the sale of property, then in this case the person’s responsibility is to independently file a 3-NDFL declaration and pay the tax. And you will not receive a receipt for paying income taxes in 2021.
We will tell you how to receive a receipt for payment of transport tax via the Internet, since this is the most common tax obligation.
Checking and paying transport tax
The unique identifier (UIN) or document index is located at the top of the receipts that the tax office mails out along with the tax notice. The document index consists of 20 digits, the first three of which indicate that the document is tax (digits 182). You can also find notifications electronically in your personal account on the website nalog.ru (authorization required). If for some reason the car owner has not received a receipt and notification from the Federal Tax Service a month before the tax payment deadline, it is recommended to contact the inspectorate in person or check and pay taxes online.
It's quite simple. All online services receive and transmit to the user information about charges from the State Information System on State and Municipal Payments (GIS GMP). After payment, the system deletes information from its database only after confirmation by the Tax Service (FTS) of Russia. This usually takes from 10 to 30 days. Therefore, search results will temporarily display tax paid. However, according to the law, the tax is considered paid once the payment is made.

Why don't my tax bills arrive?
The main reasons for the lack of receipts:
- the letter was lost in the mail;
- error or failure in the Federal Tax Service system;
- changing of the living place;
- absence of debt for the taxpayer.
If a citizen has registered on the official website of Gosuslugi, then the Federal Tax Service has the right not to send payment documents through Russian Post. Registration on the state portal already involves receiving receipts and information about debt in an online format.
But registration on the government services portal takes an average of two weeks. And if there are several days left until the debt is due, use the following algorithm.
How to find taxes by TIN, print a receipt and pay
On December 1 of each year we are obliged to pay the state for our property, cars, land. But what to do and how to pay taxes if the receipt has not arrived - in the modern information space this task is easily accomplished. To resolve the issue, we will contact Sberbank’s online banking (if you are its client). The required section is here:
Select the subsection “Search and payment of taxes to the Federal Tax Service”.
To search for tax debt, you need to select and enter your TIN.
The bank itself will contact the tax database. The whole operation will take a few seconds. After receiving the result, the debt can be paid immediately. Other banks also have similar services (Rocketbank, for example, can track the client’s taxes using the TIN entered in the mobile application and offers to pay them on time).
Pay tax by notification number
The Federal Tax Service provides detailed explanations of how to pay taxes using online services without charging service fees. Paying taxes via the Internet has a high degree of protection, guaranteed by the control of the fiscal authority.
From the moment the tax service calculates the tax until October 1, tax charges are assigned to you. If payment is made on time, you will not face a fine or penalty, but after October 1, these tax charges turn into debt, on which a penalty is already charged.
How to receive receipts for taxes on government services
The Government Services portal is increasingly helping us interact with the government. It allows you to receive many services online, including paying taxes without a TIN receipt - for this you need:
1. Register on the State Services portal.
2. Log in to your personal account and go to the “Tax debt” section.
3. On the page that opens, enter your TIN and click the “Find debt” button.
The system searches for debt in the databases of the Federal Tax Service, and there is no doubt that the amounts of tax debt found are correct.
When the search is completed, the system will offer to pay the debt: payment of taxes for individuals can be made through government services with a bank card. The service allows you to print tax receipts using an individual’s Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) for payment at a bank or other convenient method.
Addition:
Is it enough to know just the last name?
How can you find out if a person has debts to the state if only your first, middle and last names are known? No way. A person's name is not an individual identifier, so no system can determine whether the requester can be trusted with confidential information. This is why official resources require that everyone who wants to create a personal page on their online resources personally appear in order to receive authorization codes.
Thus, a request for existing debts “by last name” will not be satisfied. And to obtain information on your own debts, you must not only register on the website of government services, but also go through the verification procedure.
What resources allow you to find out about existing debts online?
A one-stop resource for finding out all your unpaid debts is the government services portal. In addition, you can find out about the existence of tax debt on the websites of bailiffs and the tax service. The official website of the traffic police will report unpaid fines. Court decisions on debt collection can be found on court websites.
What is needed for an online request
Not all official Internet resources will require registration from those wishing to receive information about the existence of a debt. But then you will need to provide information that specifies the request. To find out on the traffic police website whether there are unpaid fines, you must indicate the license plate number of the car, its registration certificate and driver’s license. On the website of the Federal Bailiff Service, to obtain information about enforcement proceedings, you should indicate where it is open, the name of the debtor and his birthday. True, it will not be possible to obtain information about the amount of the debt in this way; the site will only indicate the grounds for collecting the debt and name the collector.
You can fully take advantage of the functionality of official resources after creating a “personal account” on the site. However, to gain access to the personal data of a Russian citizen, official authorities require user verification in one way or another. So, in order to start working in your “personal account” on the website of the Federal Tax Service, you will have to pay a visit to the tax office and issue a registration card. After this, the user will have access to information about his debts.
The government services portal allows users to interact with almost all government agencies in Russia: send requests, make appointments, receive information. To gain full access to the portal's capabilities, you must fill out a form on the website. Well, then - wait a few days for registration in the Unified Identification and Authentication System (USIA) and assignment of an activation code, which can only be obtained in person - at the post office or at the Rostelecom office.
How to generate a payment order on the Federal Tax Service website online
To pay tax in person through a bank branch, you need a document - the basis for the payment, without which the bank clerk will not be able to carry out this operation. Let's look at how to print a tax receipt from the tax office website for such cases. As an example, let's take transport tax, as the most common one.
Step-by-step algorithm on how to pay transport tax if there is no receipt:
Step 1. Go to the official website of the Federal Tax Service, to the section for paying debts by individuals. Select payment information as shown in the picture.
Step 2. Select the type of payment: penalty or principal payment, then indicate the amount and click “Next”.
Step 3. Fill in the details of the payment recipient. We enter the registration address. The Federal Tax Service Inspectorate and OKTMO code of the municipality will be updated automatically.
Step 4. We register the last name, first name and patronymic of the taxpayer, indicate his TIN. We check the entered information and move on to the next stage.
Step 5. Select one of the two available methods of payment for the received receipt: non-cash payment using online payment systems or payment in cash at any bank branch.
For the second option, create a document and print it. For payments through payment terminals, use UIN - the document index in the tax receipt.
You can pay your budget through a Sberbank branch or your personal Internet banking account. In the payment terminal or in your personal account, run a search for debts by TIN. The system will determine the amount of tax liabilities payable. Follow the prompts to transfer funds to the Federal Tax Service.
Where to find the document index in a tax notice
Look at the receipt (usually written at the top). If you write everything correctly, then this receipt should be automatically found in the system (all the details necessary to pay for this payment will be automatically entered). In Sberbank online you can also print a receipt (confirming the fact of the transaction) and confirm the payment using a one-time password or using a mobile phone.
What is the difference between checking transport tax using TIN and UIN? Using the TIN for individuals, you can find out information on taxes only with an expired period, that is, on assessments that were not paid within the period established by law. By unique identifier (UIN) or document index for individuals. individuals can only learn about current accruals. Do I need to pay taxes and penalties immediately? You can pay the tax and penalties immediately.
How to find out the amount of debt
The procedure for paying transport tax without a receipt has been determined. But you need to specify the payment amount. If the tax receipt is not available on the tax office website (did not arrive or was lost), you can find out the amount of the debt in several ways:
- Call the inspectorate or visit in person.
- Register in your personal account with the Federal Tax Service and check your debt.
- Check your debts through the State Services website.
Penalties are provided for citizens for late payments to the budget. Penalties will be charged on the amount of the debt.
Lost tax notice how to get it again
According to Russian tax legislation, the person to whom the car was registered must pay transport tax. To ensure that tax officials do not have questions regarding payment of the fee, a person, if necessary (for example, a receipt is lost), must know where to get the receipt to prove the fact of its payment. How to print a receipt for transport tax, where can you get the document and what to do if the tax was paid a long time ago, but the tax authorities demand payment? How to get a receipt? You can do this in two ways:
Registration of the electronic wallet itself is completed within a few minutes; to do this, you need to go to the Yandex.Money service page, link the wallet to your mobile phone and fill out a form with a minimum set of personal data. If you have already registered an electronic wallet on Yandex, you need to go to the “Goods and Services” section and select “Taxes”. After switching to the “City Payments” - “Taxes: Check and Payment” service, you will need to fill in the only field - your TIN (individual taxpayer number).
Property tax: how to find out and pay
We’ll tell you right away how to pay property tax for individuals if there is no receipt - similar to paying transport tax. Use any method:
- Visit the inspection.
- Contact the taxpayer's personal account.
- Receive a receipt or make a payment through the State Services portal.
- Use the service (online banking) of the servicing bank.
- Do this through Yandex.Money.
As of 01/01/2019, a new opportunity has appeared - you don’t have to wait for a notification from the tax office at all, but pay your taxes in advance. This is called a “single down payment”. It is transferred through the taxpayer’s personal account. The link to replenish your advance wallet is on the main page of your personal account.
You can pay in advance any amount (for example, similar to that accrued for the previous year). The system will prompt you to pay it immediately or tell you how to print a receipt for payment of property tax for individuals for payment through a bank.
This advance payment will be used to pay off future taxes on property, land and transport. It is assumed that such an advance will prevent the formation of tax debts and avoid the need to collect penalties and fines.
The presence of remote bank account management services allows you to perform the vast majority of operations without leaving your apartment. Having a device connected to the network, a registered account and login information, a bank client will save himself from the need to wait, communicate with neighbors in line and other “delights” of visiting a branch.
The largest bank in Russia offers to use the Sberbank Online service to pay taxes, make money transfers, currency and other transactions, without visiting the office. Receipts or forms are no longer needed; it is enough to know payment information or be able to use the services of organizations whose services require payment. If any difficulties or questions arise regarding the operation of the applications, the client can always ask for help by calling 900.
How to get a tax notice and receipt
Individuals pay tax on the basis of a tax notice sent by the tax authority. The tax notice is sent no later than 30 days before the payment is due. The tax notice indicates the amount of tax to be paid, the object of taxation, the tax base, as well as the deadline for paying the tax. A tax notice can be delivered to an individual (his legal or authorized representative) in person against signature, sent by registered mail or transmitted electronically via telecommunication channels or through the taxpayer’s personal account. If a tax notice is sent by registered mail, the tax notice is considered received after six days from the date of sending the registered letter.
It is possible to pay property tax for individuals not only at bank branches, but also without leaving home using the electronic services of partner banks that have entered into an Agreement with the Federal Tax Service of Russia as part of the exchange of information on payments by individuals.
What to do if you haven’t received a payment receipt
Government courier departments may not deliver the receipt on time to require payment of a certain fee. The absence of a receipt does not exempt a citizen from mandatory payments. If there is a delay and penalties and fines are accrued on the amount of debt, the reference to the courier’s sluggishness will not be relevant.
Federal Tax Service employees generate several million payment receipts annually. Tax obligations are assumed by citizens who own a car, have made transactions with real estate, securities, or own their own business. The obvious turmoil and peculiarities of the Russian Post may be the reasons why the envelope with the receipt was not delivered on time.
In general, every taxpayer who has already fulfilled financial obligations is aware of the deadlines for making payments to the Federal Tax Service and can do this on time even without having a receipt in hand. The following methods are available to citizens:
- Having made an approximate calculation of the payment amount, based on past data, transfer funds using a self-service terminal or a regular ATM;
- clarify the accrued tax amount on the Federal Tax Service website or generate a receipt yourself in the Sberbank application by entering the TIN data in the appropriate field. This receipt can be presented at the bank's cash desk as an official document for making a payment. Self-payment is available to users of the online service;
- log in to the personal section of the State Services portal and make a transfer using one of the proposed methods;
- contact the nearest branch of the Federal Tax Service with a question about providing a copy of the payment receipt.
The payment form indicates the payer's details, the amount and deadline for making the payment. The law provides for the postponement of payment deadlines if the date coincides with a weekend or holiday. The rules of the Federal Tax Service imply informing a citizen about the need to pay tax within thirty days before the deadline.
A person who fails to pay the tax on time or in full, as well as if the required amount does not arrive in the Federal Tax Service account within the prescribed period, may be subject to a fine of up to 20% of the debt amount.
Brief information about the site
“Government Services” is an electronic resource created for the interaction of government organizations with the population. On the website, federal and municipal authorities offer citizens services remotely.
With the help of digital technologies, the burden on officials is reduced, and service to citizens is simplified and carried out according to uniform standards. Receiving services becomes faster and more comfortable. When completing documents online, you do not need to leave your home. You can submit your application from anywhere in the world, even at night, on weekends or on holidays.
Paying taxes without a receipt
If the letter from the Federal Tax Service is lost, you should not eat too much in case, there will be no relief for delays. It is wiser to deposit the required amount in advance rather than paying it urgently later, with compensation for the accrued interest. Currently, there are many options for paying taxes without having a receipt in hand. To complete the required operation, you can choose one of the following methods: Working with the remote self-service service in the direction of tax payments has the following algorithm:
- authorization in your account using login and password;
- go to the payments and transfers section;
- selecting a subsection of the Federal Tax Service (payment of taxes);
- entering TIN symbols into the search bar;
- selecting the tax number to which you want to make a payment;
- determining the source of debiting funds (card or account);
- confirmation of the transaction (if everything goes smoothly, the client will be asked to print a receipt for successful payment).
If there is a need to carry out such operations regularly, it makes sense to create a template, working with which will facilitate the process in the future.
Paying taxes via ATM
The use of stationary self-service devices facilitates the procedure for making regular payments to the Federal Tax Service. Having a Sberbank plastic card in hand, knowing the details (TIN, KBK) and the amount to be paid, the taxpayer can easily carry out the operation of transferring money to the tax authority. To carry out the procedure without errors, it is recommended to seek help from a consultant. In general, the process of paying taxes through an ATM is as follows:
- the preferred transaction method is established: debiting from the account or depositing cash. Not every ATM is equipped with a cash acceptance module, so wire transfer will be considered as a priority;
- a plastic card with a positive balance is placed in the reader;
- a secret code is entered to gain access to funds in the account;
- select the appropriate item in the device menu (taxes, payments, etc.);
- the recipient's details are entered;
- payment is confirmed;
- a receipt for payment is issued.
When using the cash payment option, the appropriate item is selected. Often, when determining the fee amount, pennies are taken into account, so depositing cash bills involves change, which is transferred in full to the mobile phone account specified when making the payment. When using an ATM, regardless of the chosen method and source of funds, it is important to wait for the issuance of a receipt confirming the payment of tax obligations.
When working with terminals equipped with a barcode scanner and a bill acceptor, receipts printed by the taxpayer themselves can be used. This method is considered the simplest, since you don’t even need a card to make a payment; you just need to scan the code from the payment card and deposit cash.
How to find out what exactly the tax was sent for
I think that everything is simple here. Take the phone and call the number that is indicated in the documents that are usually sent to everyone who has a tax on one thing or another. There, as a rule, there should be a specialist in the document and, of course, his phone number. And if you have two cars registered to you, then it’s very interesting why only one tax is taken into account? If you really doubt the legality, then come to your tax office and take a coupon (like at a bank) now you probably have this system too. Either the specialist made a mistake, or there is some kind of Law that limits taxation. But, you understand - It’s better to find out than to be lost in conjecture.

The tax (more precisely, a tax notice) is sent in the form of documents that are accompanied by a notice, on the page of which there is a phone number where you can call and find out why exactly this or that amount has been charged to your name. This phone number is “general”, that is, it is a “hotline” number, from which you will be redirected to the right person. They will ask for your tax identification number, check it with your first and last name, and then tell you everything. If you are exempt from tax for some reason, then you will most likely have to appear in person to provide the relevant documentation.
What to do if the payment has gone through, but the debt has not disappeared?
The status of the successful completion of the operation does not confirm the transfer of funds to the account of the tax authority. Funds written off from the card remain in the bank for a certain time. The transfer operation requires a number of confirmations. The transferred amount will appear on the recipient’s balance no earlier than in 10-14 days, after which tax officials will need time to process the payment. It is recommended to clarify whether the tax has been paid or not no earlier than a month after the transaction is completed.
If you have doubts about the crediting of funds, you can contact the Sberbank support service or the Federal Tax Service if the bank write-off was successful, but the debt is not closed. If necessary, you should register an official statement and attach copies of receipts confirming timely payment. When the situation becomes clearer, the citizen’s data will be removed from the list of debtors, and accrued fines (if any) will need to be paid with a requirement to recalculate the tax amount for the next period.
How is tax debt calculated?
(source https://www.nalog.ru/rn77/fl/interest/debts/)
- A document identifying tax arrears from persons who are not individual entrepreneurs is generated no later than 10 days after the expiration of the payment deadlines recorded in the tax notice.
- The tax authority sends a notice to the taxpayer within 3 months demanding payment of the tax. If the amount of debt (arrears) is less than 500 rubles, then a notice of debt may be sent to you within one year from the moment the payment is overdue.
- A period of at least 8 days is provided for the repayment of tax debts, unless a different period is specified in the notification.
