How to pay for hourly parking in a paid parking zone?
You can pay for parking in cash or by bank transfer. Parking can be paid in cash only using QIWI terminals. You can pay for parking by bank transfer:
- using the Moscow Parking mobile application;
- using a parking meter using a bank card;
- via phone call or SMS message.
The Moscow Parking app can be installed on phones running iOS or Android. You can top up your parking account on mos.ru.
When paying for parking via a mobile application or SMS message, charging occurs per minute. This way, if you finish parking early, the money for unused parking time is stored in your parking account and can be used to pay for future parking sessions.
In all other cases, payment is made within 15 minutes.
If from 08:00 to 21:00 you park twice in the differentiated tariff zone within 30 minutes, the time of parking sessions is summed up.
The duration of paid parking may be limited by appropriate road signs.
Mobile phone
How else can you pay for parking in Moscow? A mobile phone is a tool that almost no one in the world can live without. Payment for parking in Moscow from a mobile phone is carried out via an application or SMS.
Application
So, the first payment option is to know how to use the application. First of all, you need to download the application itself called “Moscow Parking”. Then the application will require you to enter a PIN, which will be sent to your phone automatically. This is a mandatory procedure for registration. In the personal account of the application, you enter a login, which is a phone number, and a code that will arrive in the form of SMS. Now money is deposited into the account and the application works. What needs to be done next?
- The region code, as well as the car number, must be entered in the application.
- The banner will contain the parking number, which must also be entered.
- You have 15 minutes to pay.
- When a space is selected and occupied, the “park” button is pressed in the application.
- The “stop” button is pressed before the driver is about to leave the parking lot.
Only the amount that needs to be paid according to the parking tariffs will be debited from the account. If there is money left in your account, you can use the application next time.
Payment by SMS
If the car owner decides to use the phone, then he should know how to pay for parking in Moscow via SMS. First of all, your phone balance must be at least one hundred rubles. Usually this amount is enough to park for one hour, even in an expensive place. But it’s still better to keep an eye on the tariffs so as not to get into an unpleasant situation.
To pay via SMS, you need to use the number 7757. A special SMS is sent to this number, which should contain the following data:
- car number;
- sector number in the selected parking lot;
- indicate the time during which the car will remain in the parking area. Typically, 1 hour is the minimum time for which a car can be parked, and the maximum is 24.
All data must be separated not with a space, but with the * sign. Sometimes it happens that the driver wants to extend the parking after the time has expired. To do this, you need to send “X” to the same number and add the number of hours. But the opposite situation also happens, when the driver decides to leave before the paid time ends. To do this, you also need to send an SMS with the sign “C” or “S”. In this case, all funds that were not used will remain in the account.
For sending SMS messages, each operator, be it Beeline, Megafon or MTS, will charge a commission. To clarify what the commission will be, it is better to contact your operator.
How to pay for parking using a phone call?
From August 1, 2021, a new method of paying for parking is available in Moscow - voice. To use the service, dial one of two phone numbers or 3210. In the voice section of the menu, select “2” and follow the answering machine prompts. Communicate clearly and legibly:
- parking zone number (look at the nearby “Paid parking” signs);
- expected duration of parking;
- car number indicating the region.
Please note that if you have not previously paid for parking via mobile phone and were not registered in the Moscow parking space system, the money for parking will be debited from your phone account. If you are already registered, parking fees will be debited from your parking account.
You can end or extend parking by calling again, or using standard methods - through the Moscow Parking application or by sending an SMS to the short number 7757 with the command “s”.
Is it possible to extend parking?
Extension of parking is permissible: a motorist who remembers that the paid time is coming to an end should return to the parking meter and select “Parking Extension” in the main menu. Next, you need to indicate the time for which the parking will be extended and pay the parking bill using one of the methods described above.
You need to “pay extra” within 15 minutes after the previously paid time has ended. If the driver fails to comply at this time, material about an administrative offense is automatically generated. The motorist can only wait for the arrival by mail of a “chain letter” - a notification of a fine of 2.5 thousand rubles - after he picks up his car from the impound lot.
For information: it is impossible to pay for parking “on credit”. There is only a prepayment system: first money - then parking space!
